My goal for this week is to eat off what's already in the house. I don't keep an overly stocked kitchen but still, there's a lot of stuff in there we can eat.
Breakfast
We have premade fruit-filled cereal bars and some chocolate protein bars for kids. I'm also going to make some homemade granola bars (I don't like the fruit ones and don't want to eat all of their chocolate ones. We have breakfast burritos and blueberry pancakes in the freezer. We also have oatmeal.
Lunch/Dinner
We have froze tomato soup, lentil chili, and potato kale soup. We have frozen veggies. We have peanut butter and jelly, some "turkey" lunch "meat", tortillas, and some left over spaghetti. I also found a way to make individual servings of mac and cheese in a mug and I have everything for that.
Snacks
We have the aforementioned cereal bars, apples, clementines, pistachios, pickles and popcorn. I may even have stuff to make chocolate chip cookies.
I've also made bread and have stuff to make corn tortillas.
Will it be the best week of meals ever? No, probably not. Will it be doable with things all of us like? Yes.

I have done that before, too. It does feel good to get the freezer cleared out and the cabinets at least a little--beyond the financial benefits, that is. I had to go to the store to buy some basics--bread, eggs, milk and fruit, but hope to eat dinner out of the freezer/cabinets this week. I've gotten much better about just freezing leftovers--so much less wasteful than pretending I'm going to eat them and then letting them get bad in the fridge!
I really need to do this as well. My creativity in the kitchen seems to have flown out the window lately and maybe this will help me find the creative side.
